Solar dos Presuntos
Case Study
Solar dos Presuntos is a world-class restaurant serving authentic Portuguese cuisine for more than 40 years in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal.
Recognized by famous writers, journalists, footballers, businessmen and architects worldwide, Solar dos Presuntos serves authentic Portuguese dishes with a series of specialities that reflect traditional Minho cuisine. A wealth of photographs and caricatures displayed on their walls reflects the warm reception of their customers after countless years of dedication to their food and service.
Known as one of Lisbon’s best restaurants, Solar Dos Presuntos wanted to further their reputative dining experience by creating an auditory soundscape that would reflect the restaurant’s authentic Portuguese heritage and maintain a warm, inviting atmosphere for their guests.
To execute this project, A/V integrator hiDuet looked to Bluesound Professional’s multi-zone music streaming solutions. In a relatively tight space with low ceilings, the challenge was to seamlessly integrate Bluesound Professional networked music streamers B400S and B100S with the restaurant’s existing speaker configuration to provide music for multiple areas in the restaurant.

The Solution
Faced with the challenge to provide a stable stream of audio across multiple zones of the restaurant space, Lisbon-based integrator hiDUET turned to Bluesound Professional’s Lisbon distributor Magnelusa to provide technology that would support a centralized, networked music streaming system for Solar Dos Presuntos. With two decades of expertise, the duo behind hiDUET – integrators Carlos Abreu and Carlos Delgado – deliver solid technical knowledge to help their clients select and install products that provide quality, technical reliability and sophisticated aesthetics. Portuguese distributor Magnelusa was well-positioned for the project with their ability to respond to the specific needs of clients by providing the best audio, video, multimedia and accessories brands. Thanks to the compact form factor of both streamers (1/3U for the B100S and 1U for the B400S), they could easily be mounted on a rack with more room to spare for future added units. With remote control of the music players using the BluOS Controller App, immediate access to commercial music streaming services such as SoundMachine, Custom Channels, Qsic, SiriusXM Music for Business and Tunify allowed the restaurant to curate custom, licensed and royalty-free music playlists with ease.
